(Legal) · privacy policy

Private, as standard.

What we collect through this site, why, who touches it, and the rights you hold - written to be read, not to exhaust you.

The short version

We collect what you choose to send us, we use it to reply and to do the work, we share it only with the services that keep the lights on, we never sell it, and you can ask us to correct or delete it at any time.

(01)Who we are

neo optic is the trading name of [TO COMPLETE] (company number [TO COMPLETE]), registered at [TO COMPLETE]. For anything in this policy, contact us at [TO COMPLETE] - a person reads it, not a queue.

(02)What we collect

If you contact us through this site we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, phone number and message. If we then work together, we hold the correspondence and details that naturally follow. Our hosting infrastructure also keeps standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and diagnostics.

(03)Why we use it

To reply to you, to provide and improve our services, to keep proper business records, and to meet legal obligations. In legal terms our lawful bases are legitimate interests, the performance of a contract, and consent where we ask for it. We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it - to anyone, ever.

(04)Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make this site and our correspondence work: our hosting runs on dedicated, fully managed UK infrastructure provided by eukhost, and our transactional email is delivered via SendGrid [TO COMPLETE]. Each processes data on our instructions. Beyond that, information leaves us only if the law requires it.

(05)How long we keep it

Enquiries: as long as needed to deal with them and a reasonable period after. Client records: for the life of the relationship plus the periods UK law expects for business and tax records. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted.

(06)Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, and ask for it in a portable form. Email [TO COMPLETE] and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

(07)Security

Your information lives on the same dedicated, monitored UK infrastructure our own business runs on - firewalled, patched and watched around the clock, as described on our hosting page.

(08)Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it - and for anything material, we will say so plainly rather than hide it in a diff.
